Rainbow Shaw-Giaquinto is in her 3rd season as the assistant varsity volleyball coach at Padua Academy. Each year the Pandas have made a run for the state tournament. Last season, Padua Academy had three players selected to the All-State Team, with one being named Player of the Year.

Prior to coaching at the high school level, Coach Shaw-Giaquinto spent 13 years as the assistant at Widener University in Chester, PA. She was responsible for assisting with all day-to-day operations of Widener’s volleyball program. She had a huge hand in helping Widener notch more than 200 victories, which includes qualifying for two ECAC South Tournaments and the last seven Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournaments. She also played a key role in helping direct the annual summer camp. Shaw-Giaquinto still maintains a role as the volleyball Recruiting Coordinator for the university.

Additionally, Shaw-Giaquinto has been heavily involved with coaching at the club level. She has coached for Liberty Belles Volleyball Club and Keystone Juniors Volleyball Club, ranging from U12-U18 age groups. She has also volunteered many years with the St. Gabriel (Norwood, PA) CYO program. She is also a former PIAA and CYO referee. Furthermore, the long-time coach has been a clinician for several local summer camps and winter clinics as well as the Nike High Performance Camp at UNC, Chapel Hill.  

Shaw-Giaquinto graduated from State University of New York at Brockport in 1998 with a degree in both Physical Education and Coaching. She was an OH/RS on the women’s volleyball team. She has entered her 12th year as the department chair for Interdisciplinary Studies at Padua Academy. She lives with her husband Tom and they have two children. Gabriel is a freshman at Penn State University and Ireland is a sophomore at Padua Academy.
