Premier EDGE 17 is Going to Nationals! (FINALLY)!!

It is over 2 years in the making but Premier EDGE 17 is making its way to USA Volleyball Girls Nationals Championships in Detroit, Michigan in July.  The team of nine consists of many PVBDE's veterans that have been hoping for this opportunity to wear their Premier uniforms at the USAV Nationals.  Maeve Boylan, Jade Bryant,  and Abbey Carbajal started with Premier in 2015-2016 and had their sights on the Nationals from the beginning.  In 2016-2017 season, Jackie Shields and Lauren Edmiston joined the team with the same goal along with their coaches, Heather Boylan and Jennifer Hamilton. They worked hard and almost got a bid but missed earning the bid by some tie-breaking rules. For this season, they added Courtney Maxwell, Jess Molen, Cassidy McClintock and Katelyn Ham to the last year's five returning players.... PRESTO with more EFFORT and DEDICATION.... They earned a bid by placing 3rd in 17s Open Regionals.

Their season has been impressive from the start by winning 2nd in 17/18 Mixed tournament for the 1st weekend of the season followed by winning GOLD at Monument City Classic in 17 Open Division in Richmond, VA over MLK Weekend.

Then they went on to win GOLD at MDJRS 17 Open Tournament.

In Capitol Hill Classic, they finished impressive 9th in 17 Open Division.    Then they traveled to Boston and competed in 18 USA in Boston Volleyball Festival and finished an outstanding 9th in 18 USA Division.

After that they traveled to Roanoke, VA to compete in Atlantic Coast Power League in 17/18 open division. They finished  4th overall and were the highest winning 17s team and earning a partially paid entry bid to AAU Nationals.   Then, they competed in Northeast Qualifier in 17 USA and finished 29th overall.

All of these impressive results earned them the 1 seed in 17 Open CHRVA Regionals. They finished 6-0 in pool play. They lost their semi-final match in GOLD bracket but then went on win their 3rd place match vs Brandywine 17s.  Then they waited hopefully for two weeks for the magical call and it came Sunday morning --- PREMIER EDGE 17 IS GOING TO NATIONALS!!

The Premier Family is super proud of this team!!!
