"SMALL CHANGE ADDS UP TO BIG THINGS"

We, Coaches at Premier Volleyball Club, ask our players every day to make "small changes" in their platform, in their positioning, in their footwork and in their mindset and that these "small changes" can do big things.

Therefore, Premier Volleyball Club is pleased to announce  for the month of March we will begin our "Small Change" fun(d) drive.

In the Pink Division, we will have stations at the Christiana and Padua practice sites starting on March 12th and in Black and White Division, we have a specific date for each practice location (Dates to be announced). You can also give it to your coach.

We are asking everyone to dig out and donate their "SMALL CHANGE" from their wallets, the bottom of their purses, the pockets of their bookbags and drop this change into the donation volleyball.

At the end of March, this change will be totaled and Mary Pat Kwoka, Director of Premier Volleyball Club, will match the donated change up to $500.00 and Cathy Burke will match an additional $250.00.

Volleyball (and all sports) isn't just about the games you play, they're about the lessons you learn.  Money, habits, practice....."Small Change" adds up to BIG things.

By collecting "Small Change" our players will get to SEE that Small change (literally and figuratively) over time can lead to BIG things.

The Premier Volleyball Club Families donation will be presented to Special Olympics of Delaware, an organization that enables ALL athletes to play a sport they love, no matter their disability.

Premier Volleyball Club has been touched throughout the years by many of the Special Olympics athletes in our own volleyball families and knows that this organization is very worthy and deserving of whatever contribution we make, "small" or large.

One of our very own coaches has witnessed what the Special Olympics organization means to athletes in a very personal way.  Cathy Burke, Coach of the Prime Pandas, has a 15-year old grandson, Kollin, is blind and autistic.

Due to his special needs and sensory problems, he has always LOVED the water where there are no walls or curbs or steps or restrictions and where he feels weightless and free.  He has been participating in Special Olympics Swimming and has competed in the Summer Festival for many years.  His coaches, who volunteer all their time to teach these athletes, are a very dedicated, inspiring, selfless group of individuals.

Watching the Special Olympics athletes at practices and competition and their smiles at being able to participate shows that even "small change" can make a big difference in someone else's life.  A teammate is of service to their team, a human is of service to their community.

Let's make a commitment to be the small "change" in another athlete's life.

Please dig out that change, pick it up off the sidewalk, clean out your pockets, scrounge around in your car and drop in whatever you can at your practice sites.  A mountain can only be climbed step by step, so every small step counts.
