Coach Sandy Covington began playing volleyball in high school and continued to play four years of volleyball and basketball at Salisbury State University. She was voted MVP in both sports and was a scholar athlete.  After graduation she continued to play USA Volleyball in the Chesapeake Region and officiated high school, USA and collegiate volleyball matches.

Coach Covington has been the Head Volleyball coach at Delmar High school for the past 5 years.  Delmar has won a Henlopen Championship and has been South Henlopen Champs the past 3 years. Delmar has made the Delaware State Tournament the past 2 years and advanced to the second round for the first time in 2015.  She was voted by her peers as the Henlopen Conference Coach of the Year and the Delaware Volleyball Coaches Association Coach of Year in 2015.
