Nor'easter Weekend - Teams Compete in Boston & Around the Region!

With the season more than half way done, our Premier teams were still going strong for the 1st weekend in March despite the arrival of  aNor'easter.  Nine teams traveled to Boston while eight teams competed in single days in the region.

Premier Panthers Win Gold at MDJRS 13 Tournament.

Premier Panthers participated this weekend in MDJRS 13 Club.  Going 4-2 pool play,  they finished 2nd in their pool to advance to the gold bracket.    They met our Premier Express team in the semi finals and defeated them in 2 to advance the championship final.  In the final, they met WLVBC, who they lost to in pool play, they pulled together as a team and defeated them in two - 25-21, 25-19 - to take home the gold!

Not even Nor'easter can stop Premier in Boston!

Nine teams - EDGE 18, EDGE 17, EDGE 16, Phoenix,  Fusion, EDGE 15, Lightning, Pearl and EDGE 14 - hit the road on Thursday and made their way to the city of Boston to compete in the Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival.  Like the weather was a bit frightening on Friday with high tide spilling water into the streets from Harbor,  Premier teams left an impressive mark on all of the teams. Many of our teams played up an age group and their results were great!!


Premier EDGE 17 finishes 9th in 18 USA Division!!!

Playing up in the extremely talent division of 18 USA Qualifier Division, Premier EDGE 17 performed right there with all of the competition. Winning their pool on day 1 and taking 2nd on day 2, they advanced to the 16 team gold bracket.  Unfortunately they lost in the 1st round, but they fought hard and finished 9th overall (out of 52 teams)!

Premier EDGE 15 Finishes 3rd in 16 Open Division!

Finishing 4-2 in match play for the first days, Premier EDGE 15 advance to the 16 team gold bracket on Sunday.  They won an exciting three setter quarterfinal vs Smash 16s to advance to Gold Semi Final.  In a hard tough battle with CT Juniors, they lost in 3 sets to finish 3rd overall (out of 32) in 16 Open division!

PREMIER EDGE 16 finishes 3rd in 17 USA Division!!

Playing up in 17 USA division, EDGE 16 went undefeated on both Friday and Saturday.  On Sunday, they lost a tight three set to finish 3rd (out of 24) overall in 17 USA division!


Premier EDGE 18 finishes 27th in 18 American Qualifying Division

Premier EDGE 18, playing in 18 American Qualifier Division, finished 2nd in the pool on Friday and they fought hard on Saturday to advance to the Silver Bracket. Unfortunately, they lost their first match but overall, the girls played well and finished 27th!

Premier Phoenix finishes 18th in 18 American division

Playing with only 7 players and up to age bracket in 18 American Qualifier division, they finished with a record of 4-2 for play on Friday and Saturday to advance to the Silver Bracket on Sunday.  They won their semi final match and lost in the final to finish 2nd in the Silver Bracket and 18th overall of out of 52 teams!

 

 

Premier EDGE 14 wins the bronze bracket in 15 Open.

Playing up in 15 open, Premier EDGE 14 faced some tough competition and finished 2-4 on the first two days and advanced to the bronze bracket.  On the last day, they won both of their matches to win the bronze bracket (finishing 13th out of 27 teams)!


Premier Fusion finishes 5th in 16 USA Division

Premier Fusion wins their pools on both Friday and Saturday with a record 5-1 and they advanced to the Gold Bracket in 16 USA.    On Sunday, they won their 1st match of the play to advance and lost in quarterfinals of the gold bracket. They finished 5th out of 60 teams!

Premier Lightning finishes 11th in 15 USA Division

Finishing 3-2 in pool play, Premier Lightning advanced to the Gold Bracket in 15 USA on Sunday.  They lost in the first round and their consolidation match to finish 11th out of 42  teams!

Premier Pearl battles through adversity to compete this weekend!

Premier Pearl fought their adversity this weekend in 15 USA Division. Missing a player due to an injury and then having  a player stuck in the Nor'easter on Friday,  they battled on it.
