Coach Jim Berger began playing volleyball in 1988 and only 2 years later was a PIAA All-State player.  He helped initiate his college’s inaugural men’s volleyball club team, which resulted in becoming an All-American his sophomore year (92).  The culmination of his college career was being voted he MVP of the New England Collegiate Volleyball League (94).

Coach Berger has been sharpening his skills as a coach for 24 years at the club, college, and high school levels.  He has been coaching at Delmarva Christian High School in Georgetown DE for the past 12 years.  He was a 3 time Diamond State Conference coach of the year and named the Delaware Volleyball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2010, nominated by his peers.  His coaching techniques have resulted in making DCHS the only Sussex County High School to reach the Delaware State Tournament for 4 consecutive appearances (2009-2012).

Coach Berger is proud to be a part of growing volleyball in Southern DE and even prouder to be a part of the “Premier” family.
