Coach Dean Shuttleworth fell in love with the game of volleyball in the mid 80’s on the beaches of Rehoboth.   What started off as evening pickup games under the lights at the boardwalk, turned into competitive weekend beach tournaments, and eventually being sponsored and winning prize money. 

He also decided to try the indoor game and played many years in the United States Volleyball Association where his team was fortunate to win regionals and he was named Regional MVP.   

Coach Shuttleworth became the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Salisbury University under long-time coach, Margie Knight.  He coached for two years until he started a family and no longer had the additional time to spare. 

He has recently rekindled his love for volleyball because of his daughter’s interest and enjoyment of the game.  Two years ago he coached for Premier in the White Division. 

Coach Shuttleworth is thrilled to be back coaching again this year and look forward to sharing his knowledge of volleyball.
